Fleece slipper socks are typically made out of polar fleece.  Polar fleece according to the Wikipedia is also known as micro fleece or micra fleece. Although It is usually referred to simply as “fleece.” it is a soft napped insulating synthetic wool fabric made from Polyethylene terephthalate(PET) or other synthetic fibers. One of the first forms was Polar Fleece created in 1979 by Malden Mills, now Polartec LLC. It was a new, light and strong pile fabric meant to mimic and in some ways surpass wool. Fleece has some of wool’s finest qualities but weighs a fraction of the lightest available woolens.

There are many advantages to using fleece and when that is combined with slipper socks, it can be a wonderful alternative for your feet.  Fleece is a very lightweight fabric. Bean.  They are sized like all other slipper socks: XS (women’s 4-5), S (women’s 6-7, men’s 5-6), M (women’s 8-9, men’s 7-8), L (women’s 10-11, men’s 9-10).  Most are machine washable and dryer safe.  Of course this all varies according to brand and manufacturer.  Some of the more popular brands are Acorn, and Mukluks. They are made in men’s and women’s sizes.  They are also made in a unisex style. 

Buying a pair of fleece slipper socks is an excellent alternative to wool because of the comfort factor.  They are lighter and dry quicker.  In some cases it is a better environmental alternative. They keep your feet dry and insulated even if they get wet.  They are portable and can be rolled up and stowed away with ease.   There are other great advantages to buying this type of slipper sock; the ones mentioned here are just a few.
